Age is a reference
to the relation you have
with a timely body:
ailing, wailing, slowly failing.

Drifting in the wrong waters
How many times, would I have had to die
because my ship drifted to where I didn't ask
tornado at sea,
I, am the difficult storm ahead
how many have to go, so I could feel
the wind as a brother
on my neck,
because my ship drifted to the wrong waters
because my ship drifted to where I didn't ask
tornado at sea,
I, am the difficult storm ahead
how many have to go, so I could feel
the wind as a brother
on my neck,

After the music, bodies
Your body, left like yesterday's clothes
old music, neither indie nor popular
some form of a symphony that bridges
the space left on the bed
old music, neither indie nor popular
some form of a symphony that bridges
the space left on the bed
Modern friendship
Break
yourself open, like a walnut shell
you still dance in the shadow
become a hazy memory that calls nothing for glory.

a cold birthday
Eyes drooping
with liner,
Cigarette at
hand and her birthday was very cold
Spent moving
between the rock and the harder place;
I haven’t been
home- she thinks
Because home’s
sunshine was the answer

A day, selected for women
Selected, like a hand picking a flower out of its stem
is the day made to celebrate a majority
the inclination towards saying words that mean little on the ground stifles
all hopes I have built with imagination all those years
but a flower meeting my fingertips should be enough
to inspire me to make something valid at your hand
a celebration that fits me with my curves-
hugging me from head to toe.

Value, skirts, women
Your value
does not depend
on how short or long your skirt is, my sister.

How many young girls?
How many stories of young girls
would I have to see
bleeding, without power to speak
before I shout?

First rain
falls gently like it's not seen earth
falls urgently like children's laughter
the first rain that patters over my head
falls urgently like children's laughter
the first rain that patters over my head

the hair, like a corpse
on the ground
like a dead corpse
is the hair your fingers twirled around
like a dead corpse
is the hair your fingers twirled around

Let him kiss your soles
Let him kiss the soles of your feet
with a wet lip that trembles to your white, white ankle
this river
with a wet lip that trembles to your white, white ankle
this river
